Summer Night

Amid the remnant crowd of the summer ball,
I spotted a lithe frail girl standing on her own.
A two drinks courage and a recital
pushed me toward this apparition.

I mumbled something, etherized on the scene,
Drawn and resurrected when, timidly on the lawn
you kissed me. I, then blessed, find i am humming;
joyfully swimming in one indistinct drone

I held you tight like I held you for the last time,
Spinning along the music in my awkward arms.
As the moonlight lingers a moment on both our heads
I whisper to your ear the words of someone else.

And in the leafy kiosk we danced when the band was gone.
we laid on the grass and gloried the splendent thane.
you kissed my eye and held my hand,
contemplating the moon in its descent to dawn.

I, then blessed, find I am humming in the summer night.

Letter (lyrics)

there's some memories you keep flashing out on your script
the way the candles light or furniture in the street
the lonesome house's no more lonely now I replaced your tambourine
feels like we're lost, feels like we're tide upon our sleep

(but) where have you been?
(but) where have you been?

along the way you've lost your charm, I've lost my friends
seems like karma came back and smack us in the face
it's a long path to be alone to be disgraced.
the more we aged the harder it gets to keep on keeping on

(but) where have you been?
(but) where have you been?

Heart of Darkness

"dearest what a feeling watching you dancing in the fire
our ship a-sailing somewhere
along the road the marching band filling up the gap
the soldiers left, and your cries.

Ten million voices united behind one man
paragraphs of hatred disillusion.
They're yelling at their teachers and yelling at their friends
heading in the wrong direction

and it's a long way to the shadow,
it's a long way to the shadow and you 're not there yet
it's a long way to the shadow,
it's a long way to the shadow of the heart of darkness

The sound of silver and the boots tapping on the ground
your mothers are lodging a foreign tongue
the bomb scent in your nostrils and the cemetery land
the river has grown old today"

New song - "Seafarer"

After Caroline the night dresses in light
myrtle colour like when we danced in the park
for everything you sight, your reddened lipstick gasp
no mourners can defy the mouthed joy-song you cast

I crested my head high, darkened the virgin page
content and inmate, all at rest on the ledge
While my seafarer mind already with the land
I would berthed and furled where the watchfire stand

After Caroline storms went silent again
blended with the lawn the gardeners forget
that laurel overtake melting in summer scent
when muses inspire and writers lose themselves
